The club would like to thank fans for embracing the new Barcode Entry system last Saturday when entering the stadium for the Coventry City game.
We are pleased to say that the new system worked well and we had fewer issues than we had anticipated.
We also appreciate the patience shown by fans regarding the delays in sending out the season tickets as result of the new system.
Originally, we aimed to partner with Chelsea FC over the summer to deliver a joint installation project of the entry system at the ground. After a period of consultation, Chelsea FC decided that they wanted a more extensive solution than we felt we needed, which then left us with a tight window to install a different spec system ourselves. This coupled with the requirement to test the system against the newly printed cards and a last-minute issue with one of the new printers, meant we could not print and send out a small batch of new season ticket cards in a timely fashion.
Thankfully collections on Saturday went well and the remaining season tickets that were not collected from the office this week were posted out on Wednesday 15 August in good time ahead of the Walsall game next week.
If you have not received your season ticket by Monday 20 August please email the ticket office on seasontickets@afcwimbledon.ltd.uk
Rest assured we are continually reviewing the new entry system process with our matchday staff and will further improve the service over the course of the next few home games.
We’d like to say thank you to the volunteers in the cash office and our matchday turnstile, steward and saferty staff who showed great versatility in meeting the entry requirement changes for the new cards at short notice.
In addition, we’d like to express our gratitude to:
- David Growns, former DT Board member and I.T. consultant, for his project management of getting the entry system up and running
- All the volunteers who helped to stuff Season Tickets into envelopes for the postal delivery and collection
- The club’s ticket office staff for managing the technical and administrative changes required for the new system and the printing and fulfilment of season tickets within a tight timeframe.
We would still like to remind fans that the new system is still bedding in and it would be greatly appreciated if fans can continue to allow themselves a bit more time to gain entrance than normal.
We look forward to welcoming you back next Tuesday 21 August for our first home evening game under the lights.
