Terrace tickets still available for first home game

10 August 2018

AFC Wimbledon start the 2018/19 home campaign against Coventry City on Saturday and tickets are still available to cheer on Neal Ardley's men.

The Dons will be aiming to produce a fine display on home turf after starting the season with an impressive victory at Fleetwood. All supporters are reminded that we are switching to an Access Control system for this match and you will need to swipe in your ticket upon arrival.

Below is a summary of ticket availability and other information ahead of the game:

Tickets

All seated areas and the Chemflow End are sold out, but we still have availability for the home RyGas terrace. Tickets can be purchased in advance from the online shop until 11.00 am tomorrow morning and you can collect pre-match from the white ticket booth in Jack Goodchild Way (next to the Dons Trust kiosk). Tickets will be available for the RyGas terrace on the day (just £17 for adults).

Access Control ticketing system

Below is a brief guide to gain entry tomorrow with your ticket or Season Ticket:

  • When you arrive at the stadium you will be required to simply swipe your season ticket card or match-specific paper ticket under the new Access Control readers.
  • These will be found at the stadium turnstiles and in the main foyer of the Paul Strank stand.
  • The units will read the barcode on the front of your season ticket card or paper match tickets and flash green to indicate to the ticketing steward to let you enter.

For more information, please see our previous article.

Collection point for Season Ticket holders

There will be a collection point set-up on Saturday for those supporters that haven't received their Season Tickets in the post.

Though the majority of Season Tickets have been posted out by the club this week, some remain here for collection and they can be picked up from a desk outside the back bar from 12.30 pm before the Coventry game.

Please bring ID with you to present to our team at the collection point. If you have a query about your Season Ticket, please e-mail seasontickets@afcwimbledon.ltd.uk .

Programme

Get your first programme of the new season for the usual price of £3. It's well worth adding to your collection as it includes a tribute to Jon Meades after his recent retirement, plus an extensive interview with new AFC Wimbledon goalkeeper Tom King. Your match day programme also includes all the usual news and features from around your club.

Bars

The bars will be open from 12 noon tomorrow with a wide selection of drinks, including a variety of real ales. We will be showing the live Premier League match between Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur in the bars (from 12.30 pm), plus Wolves versus Everton from 5.30 pm. We will be pleased to welcome Coventry City supporters into the bar areas before the game.

Ales available in the bars include the following:

Main Bar

  • Plough Lane Ale
  • Copper Leaf
  • SW19 Summer Ale

Back Bar

  • Plough Lane Ale
  • Wimbledon Common Pale Ale
  • SW19 Summer Ale

We will also have the plastic bottles on sale on a separate table in the main bar, with the following drinks: Fosters, Heineken, and Bulmers (£3.50 each or 2 for £6).

Dons Trust Kiosk

Dons Trust members and people interested in the work of the Trust are welcome to visit the Dons Trust kiosk before the match. Come and ask board members Mark Davis and Roger Evans about the work of the board generally or their own specific roles. Mark is Chair of the Trust and also chairs the Oversight Committee, whilst Roger is a member of the Stadium Committee. You can also join the Trust or renew your membership at the kiosk, sign up to the Dons Draw (the club's regular monthly lottery) or donate loose change. (Please note that the Dons Trust no longer collects printer cartridges for recycling.)

Tickets for Portsmouth and Barnsley

Supporters can buy tickets and reserve places on the supporters' coach for our next two away games by visiting the complimentary tickets window before the game and for a short time afterwards.

Train strikes called off

We had mentioned on the official website earlier this week that there was a possibility of Norbiton station being affected by train strikes. However, the planned strikes have now been called off and trains are expected to run as normal to Norbiton.

Pre-match kids football

The Foundation is launching a new matchday service on Saturdays by hosting a drop-in fun football session for 5–12 year olds on the new astroturf pitches between 1.30 – 2.45pm at the David Weir Sports Centre, adjacent to the car park. Parents who want to enjoy a relaxing pre-match drink and burger are welcome to drop off their children with Foundation staff. Our Foundation coaches will offer an hour completing skills challenges and kids will be able to play small-sided games on the excellent new 4G pitches for a cost of £3. Please enter through the David Weir Sports Centre and walk round to the pitches to register with Foundation staff.

The inflatable shoot out will also be in operation from 1.30 – 2.30pm on the day, next to the back bar area. All players are welcome from both home and away fans. For further information contact the Foundation office on 020 8974 5712.

Football for Women

The Foundation's popular football sessions for women 30-plus will be relaunched tomorrow. They will run every home matchday at the David Weir Centre from 12 noon until 1.30 pm. All players are very welcome to attend this free session.
