An eight-minute interview with Wally Downes ahead of Charlton on Saturday includes an update from our manager on his plans to boost the squad in January.
Wally also talked about mixing with the fans at last night’s Meet the Manager event and about facing up to the challenge of taking on promotion-chasers Charlton at The Valley.
With a hectic time leading up to the game against Rochdale due to his midweek appointment, it’s been different for Wally this week as he’s been fully focused on preparing the team for the next game.
“The players showed me what they can do in the Rochdale game,” said Wally. “We’ve been able to work on the footballing side of things with an unbroken week. Coming towards the end of this week, it’s more Charlton specific. In the first part of this week we worked on our shape, the positions we want to be in, and how we want to approach the game. Now we get onto showing our players the strengths and weaknesses that Charlton have and they are very sharp up front.”
