AFC Wimbledon Ladies have bolstered their defensive ranks by signing Sarah Wentworth from Basingstoke.
Manager Chris Lyons decided to strengthen from a position of strength with AFC Wimbledon currently top of FA Women's Premier League South East Division One with eight games remaining.
"Sarah can play anywhere across the back four, so she will be a very versatile and flexible signing for us," said Chris. "She is a good, solid, reliable defender and knows when to foot her in, so I'm very happy Sarah has signed for us.
"The past weekend's results have shown this league is still very tight, and no-one can relax. We need to keep pushing hard if we want to improve on last season. Sarah's signing is part of that push and will add more strength to our competitive squad."
AFC Wimbledon Ladies take on Haringey Borough this Sunday (2.00 pm kick-off at Sutton United) with spectators welcome to get behind the title bid.
