George Long and Joe Pigott both in contention to face Blackpool

Neil Cox on preparations for home match against Blackpool

Neil Cox said that new signing Joe Pigott will be in the squad for Saturday's home match against Blackpool and there was also good news to report on the fitness of George Long.

Speaking during an update from the training ground for iFollow, Neil said: "Joe has settled in really well, he knows one or two of the boys, and he is travelling in with Dean Parrett. He has been in for two days and has worked really hard. Joe is another player added to our squad who will only strengthen it, which is a plus for everybody. He will be in the squad for Saturday. The team has not been picked yet, we will wait until tomorrow, but everybody has trained really well after a good performance last week. We were disappointed with the result in the last game, but it was a good display, so we are looking forward to carrying that on."

Goalkeeper George Long missed the draw at Milton Keynes due to illness with Joe McDonnell impressing in his absence. Neil reported that George was back in full training today after recovering well since Saturday.

"George has been back in today," added Neil. "He wanted to play in the last game, but he was really struggling. It was beneficial that he left the camp and got away from the ground. We did not want the bug flying around because it's that time of year when people get coughs and colds. We need everyone fit, but George has been back in today and he has trained really well. Macca did very well, so there is pressure for the place, which I'm sure George will be happy with."

A more extensive preview ahead of the Blackpool game will feature on the official website tomorrow.
