AFC Wimbledon are currently looking to recruit young people for opportunities to kick-start a career in the sports industry and sports coaching.
Our Foundation team are running the Sports Coaching Traineeship programme, in partnership with SCL, starting in February 2018. Candidates should be 16-18, live locally, have qualifications up to Level 1 and 2 only, and not be currently in full-time work or education over 16 hours per week. To be considered, applicants must be interested in sport and working with young people, be enthusiastic, reliable, responsible and good time keepers.
The AFC Wimbledon Traineeship will provide a three-month full-time work placement from February - April 2018 with the organisation, where you will shadow Foundation coaches at a number of school, after-school, Saturday morning Player Development Centre, and early evening community sessions, learning the fundamentals of community sports coaching in football and multi-sports. Participants will also complete Functional Skills and Employability qualifications, as well as a Sports Coaching Award.
