Celebrate 'La Fiesta de San Juan' on June 24

7 June 2018

There's a cracking double event at the Cherry Red Records Stadium coming up later this month.

On Sunday 24 June, AFC Wimbledon will be once again hosting a party to celebrate 'La Fiesta de San Juan' – a colourful Venezuelan event that pays tribute to St John, one of the patron saints of the South American country.

Last year's celebration at the club was a tremendous success with a great atmosphere in the back bar and it will be held in the same venue once again (from 1.00 pm).

On the same day, the club will be showing all three World Cup games in the Your Golf Travel Bar, starting with England versus Panama (1.00 pm kick-off). This will be followed by Japan v Senegal (4.00 pm kick-off) and Poland v Colombia (7.00 pm kick-off).

You will not need a ticket to get into the YGT bar, which will open from midday.

More details are below about La Fiesta de San Juan and how to get tickets

Celebrating the birth of St John, one of the patron saints of Venezuela, the event will bring you a taste of Venezuelan culture, craft, music and food. Traditionally, the day is filled with dancing to the beat of 'tambores', a fusion of Latin American and African drumming, brought to you by local drum band 4Tambor.

Funds raised from the event will be donated to two charities supporting the economic and social crisis in Venezuela. The two charities are Healing Venezuela and A Hand for Venezuela. Visit the Liqui Liqui website to buy tickets for the event on 24 June or pop into the local shop (based at Merton High Street, SW19 1DN). Come and taste wonderful and authentic Venezuelan cuisine, with its wonderful variety of distinctive flavours, all from @LiquiLiquiLondon.
