Lloyd Sam is poised to make his first appearance for AFC Wimbledon in a development match on Tuesday afternoon against Bristol Rovers (1.00 pm kick-off at Yate Town).
Winger Lloyd, who signed for the Dons on Thursday, will feature in a young AFC Wimbledon squad managed by Alan Reeves with five Under-18s included.
Lloyd has plenty of experience of playing at a high level with his career having included spells at Charlton Athletic and Leeds United, plus stints in the MLS with New York Red Bulls and DC United, but Neal Ardley feels that he needs game-time for the development squad before being considered for the first-team.
The match on Tuesday is in the Central League with Wimbledon taking on a side coached by former Torquay United manager Chris Hargreaves.
