Barcham back in full training ahead of Shrewsbury

Winger shakes off calf injury to put himself back in the frame

2 November 2018

Andy Barcham has put himself back in contention for a return by returning to full training this week after shaking off a calf injury.

Neal Ardley confirmed that Barcham, along with Anthony Wordsworth (Achilles) and Tyler Garratt (knee), have all made good progress, but he will decide ahead of Saturday's game if they are to be involved in the squad.

"They are all back in training, but whether it's going to be too soon for them or not, we don't know yet," said Neal. "Obviously, we have three games coming up quickly, so it's important that we have everyone back fit to give us a chance of tackling those matches. We are not looking too far ahead though as we know the importance of Saturday's game."

The manager added that Will Nightingale is doubtful after picking up a training ground knock and his fitness will be assessed today.

Jake Jervis will be back available for tomorrow's match after he was ineligible to face his parent club Luton Town last weekend.

Look out a bit later for an extensive preview of the match against Shrewsbury.
