Volunteers required for key roles in the Dons Trust

Make a difference at your club

27 November 2018

As announced at the November SGM, Tom Brown will shortly be stepping down as Secretary, having recently moved to a demanding new role in his professional career. Tom has made great strides to develop the secretariat function of the Trust during his tenure of nearly two years and the board is grateful to Tom for his support.

The DT are now advertising for a new Secretary to replace Tom. This is an unpaid role but it offers a great opportunity for someone to be closely involved at the heart of the Trust and, depending on their experience and aspirations, to develop and demonstrate competencies and skills that will serve them in their wider career.

We are also looking for volunteers for a range of activities required to support the secretariat. It will be for the incoming Secretary to agree the roles of such volunteers, to complement his / her own skills and availability. However, with a membership of around 3,000 and an ever greater variety of communication methods to reach those members, we expect that an increased variety of additional skills and a greater number of volunteer hours will be needed to support the Secretariat with activities such as membership communications, social media, data retention and logistical support.

To find out more about these roles and how to apply by contacting Dons Trust Chair Mark Davis, visit the DT website. Applications for the position of Secretary will need to be submitted by 30 November.
