AFC Wimbledon Under-18s continued the winning momentum by earning an impressive friendly victory against Charlton Athletic on Tuesday afternoon.

In-form Zachery Robinson (pictured right with Reuben Collins) struck the opener for Wimbledon in a 4-1 win against a category two academy club, following a brilliant assist from David Fisher. The Dons should have been further ahead by half-time, but Charlton started the second-half much brighter and Burt White was required to pull off a good save to keep the lead intact.

The Dons doubled the advantage though on 67 minutes when the excellent Ayoub Assal finished clinically after a pass from Rueben Collins. An error at the back allowed Charlton back into the game on 71 minutes, but a potential fightback was thwarted in style by the Dons. Paul Osew struck an excellent goal after an assist from Robinson. Better was to come from Wimbledon and the fourth goal arrived in the 90th minute through Robinson, who struck his second goal after an excellent Finlay Macnab assist.

Manager Mark Robinson: "We got the chance to play Charlton, which is a fantastic game for us. They have had a 15-year head start on us, but they have a fantastic track record of producing players. The result for the lads is obviously very important to them. More important to me was the manner of the performance that brought the victory and the fact we had stand out players all over the pitch."
