As mentioned at September’s Dons Trust SGM and included as the subject of the DT page contained within the Oxford United programme, the Dons Trust Board has started the process for undertaking a major refresh of our strategy for the future of the organisation.
The need for a strategy refresh is very timely, given we are now committed to the move to our new stadium and have thus gone most of the way to fulfilling the main focus of our current strategy, which was largely developed through 2011.
Volunteers from the Survey Working Group joined Joe Palmer (AFC Wimbledon Chief Operating Officer), Mark Davis (Dons Trust Chair), Cormac van der Hoeven (Dons Trust Board member) and Matthew Breach at a kick-off meeting on 24 September at the Prince Of Wales pub in Wimbledon. The main outcome of the meeting was an agreement to use the same basic format for consultation as we did for the previous strategy exercise. This approach involves developing a set of scenarios which articulate possible futures for the club/organisation that are derived from mutually consistent combinations of ambition, ownership model, community focus, etc.
The group will spend some time creating some ideas for the scenarios and what they would cover, and then intends to hold an open meeting to seek views on the range of topics covered and the draft scenarios before looking to finalise these for the full consultation exercise that should occur early in the New Year.
If you are interested in attending the open meeting, or indeed getting involved with the wider activities of the Survey Working Group, please contact email@example.com, and let us know about your interest so we can gauge the size and type of venue to use for this exercise.
