AFC Wimbledon Under-18s warmed up for the FA Youth Cup by edging out Thursday’s opponents Gillingham in the league on Saturday.
A double from Bobby Mills, plus goals from Zach Robinson and Reece Weekes, earned a 4-3 victory at Gillingham.
Mills struck a first-half equaliser from the penalty spot after Donte Lodge-Francis had been brought down, but Gillingham marched into the lead before half-time and scored again just after the hour to go 3-1 up. However, the Dons stormed back with Weekes leading the charge, as he crossed superbly for Robinson to head home. Weekes then levelled from the penalty spot and Mills kept his cool to strike a 94th minute winner with a clinical finish.
