Important communications from the Dons Trust

28 September 2018

Two important sets of correspondence have gone out from the Dons Trust in recent days.

First, a vote has been launched to permit the AFCW PLC to issue new shares has been launched. This is a vital step in raising finance for the new stadium in Plough Lane. It is critical that all Dons Trust members exercise the vote on this issue. The thresholds for approval, both in terms of the proportion of members who need to vote, and the proportion of members who need to vote in favour, are very high. Unless it is approved, the issue of shares cannot proceed, with adverse consequences for the funding of our new stadium.

Those members who receive communications by email will have received an email with a link to the papers explaining the proposals and, separately, an email inviting members to cast their vote electronically, via Survey Monkey. If you have not received these, please check your Spam / Junk folder and, if not received, contact the Dons Trust by e-mail . Members who receive communications by post should have received the papers by post. Again, please contact the Trust if you have not received the papers as it is essential we have valid contact details for all Trust members.

The papers for the Restricted Action vote can also be found under the papers for the November 2018 SGM by visiting the Dons Trust website. The Dons Trust Board urges all members to vote in favour of the resolution and to cast their vote as soon as possible. The vote will conclude at an SGM to be held at The Cherry Red Records Stadium on 8 November.

The second communication that has gone out to members over recent days is the announcement of the Dons Trust Board elections. This is an opportunity for all members to put themselves forward for election to the Board and so make a real impact on the future direction and oversight of AFC Wimbledon during a critical period in our history. Please note that the deadline for nominations has been extended to 13 October. Again, members who receive communications via email should already have received an email about this. Postal recipients should be receiving papers imminently as these have been posted out on 26 September. The announcement and supporting papers can be found online
