Site almost cleared for new stadium

The latest pictures from Plough Lane

Wimbledon are edging closer to moving back home and now the site is almost cleared to start building our new stadium!

As reflected in our latest pictures above, the demolition process that started back in March is now almost complete. Only the old electricity sub-station and the West Stand from the old greyhound stadium at Plough Lane are still standing. Due to the West Stand's proximity to the UK National Power Network site, the rear of it is being taken down by hand, but the rest of it will start to come down next week.

In addition, the culvert (drain), which has had to be redirected, has started to be laid, a process which needs to be completed for the handover of the land to us. Finally, markers have even been put down at the site to signify where the corner flags will be on the Plough Lane pitch!
