‘Reuben has blue and yellow in his blood’

Interviews with young prospects after they signed pro deals

29 April 2019

Academy Manager Jeremy Sauer said that Reuben Collins has set an example for other young players to follow after he signed a professional deal at AFC Wimbledon.

The towering defender, who was awarded the Academy Player of the Year on Saturday – barely 24 hours after signing a pro deal – has impressed everyone with his dedication to the Dons cause.

We published a snippet of his interview after he signed on the dotted line, but an extended version of this can be viewed on our You Tube channel below.

Seventeen-year-old Ayoub Assal signed a pro deal on Friday and he’s regarded by Academy Head of Football Mark Robinson as a “tenacious” attacking midfielder with “wonderful skill”. See below for an interview with Ayoub.

There’s also an interview with Paul Osew, who joined the pro ranks on Friday, and he talked about his rapid rise from playing college football to becoming a full-time footballer.

See below for Paul’s interview.
