Will Nightingale is far from wary about the challenge of facing Champions-elect Luton Town at Kenilworth Road on Tuesday night.
The defender believes the squad have shown what they are capable of with a run of form since the end of February that has given Wimbledon a fighting chance of staying up.
Speaking during an interview for iFollow, Will said: “We’ve got to show what this Wimbledon club is about and we have got to prove to everyone how good we can be. We’ve got off to a late start this season and we are trying to make up for it. We can’t let all of this good work be for nothing. We have to make sure we finish this season strongly.
“We are going out to win every single game now. There are nine points available and we’ve got to go out to get as many points as we can. It’s a big game and they are top of the table, but we shouldn’t worry about who we are facing. On our day we’ve got to believe we can beat anybody. We’ve got to want it more than them. They are fighting for promotion and the title, so they are going to be up for it as well. We have got to make sure we match that and better it.
“I’ll do what I can to try and get the boys up for it. To be honest with you, a lot of us will not need that. I am going to do everything I can and try to lead us. We’ve got to stick together. The fans have been brilliant with us and we need them more than ever to finish the season strongly. I am going to give everything to give the fans what they deserve.”
