Nathan put through his paces ahead of Bolton

Watch Ashley Bayes push our group of goalkeepers in a tough session

6 December 2019

Nathan Trott looked sharp in preparation for our return to League One action at Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.

The West Ham United loanee and England Under-21 squad member showed he is keen to build on the clean sheet he kept in our last outing. That was almost a fortnight ago, when we won 1-0 at home to Gillingham.

It's a collective effort at our New Malden training ground though. Goalkeeping Coach Ashley Bayes is pleased that all of our keepers under his guidance are currently playing regularly and pushing each other to new levels.

New Zealand international Nik Tzanev has made a great start to life on loan at National League side Sutton United. Long-serving Joe McDonnell saved a penalty in midweek as we made progress in the Surrey Senior Cup, while Bert White recently started a spell of work experience at Combined Counties League club Westside.

Fellow Under-18s goalkeeper Matthew Cox was recently selected to attend the England men's goalkeeping camp at St George's Park. He continued to show why he was worthy of the call-up.

Leatherhead's Zaki Nazih Oualah, a team mate of loan trio Finlay Macnab, Tommy Wood and Zach Robinson, was also in attendance. He trains with Wimbledon on a regular basis and is also benefitting from Bayzo's rigorous work-outs.
