Loan watch: Nik continues to make a difference

Dons keeper influential in Sutton's revival

23 December 2019

New Zealand international Nik Tzanev has continued to help nearby Sutton United climb the table away from relegation trouble.

Since his arrival at the Gander Green Lane club Nik (pictured) has retained the goalkeeper's jersey, during which time the National League side have escaped from the relegation zone by moving into 17th place in the table. He was in goal for Saturday's 3-1 victory over Wrexham, as our coaching staff keep a keen eye on the Kiwi's form.

Winger Dylan Connolly played for 77 minutes in Bradford City's 1-1 draw with Salford City in Sky Bet League Two. The flying Irishman helped set up the Bantams opening goal in the game.

Elsewhere, midfielder Finlay Macnab helped Leatherhead to a clean sheet and a point following a goaless draw at Margate in the Isthmian League Premier Division.

The wet conditions ruled out game time for Jamil Awoyejo, David Fisher (South Park), Richie Mbele (Godalming Town) and goalkeeper Bert White (Westside) as matches involving their sides fell victim to the weather on Saturday.

However, David has extended his work experience loan with Isthmian League South Park until the end of March 2020, giving him the possibility of more experience in senior football this season.
