Sky cameras capture Dons players supporting Christmas cause

Will Nightingale and Mark Robinson interviewed for Sky Sports News feature

18 December 2019

Mark Robinson and several Dons players encapsulated the Christmas spirit on Sunday by showing their support for the Santa Fun Run.

Captain Will Nightingale, Jack Rudoni, Nesta Guiness Walker, Archie Procter, Anthony Hartigan, Tommy Wood, Huseyin Biler and Jack Madelin joined Mark and 500 fun runners at Bushy Park in an event to raise funds for Princess Alice Hospice.

As part of this, we promoted the event with the whole of our squad dressing up in Santa suits at the training ground (see above) and our involvement earned press attention on Sky Sports News.

In case you missed it, you can watch the short video below.

Beth Sadler, Partnerships Fundraiser for the Hospice, said: “Special thanks go to AFC Wimbledon for being good sports and enabling their players to come along today. It was a real boost for the event.”

Mark and our players also supported a big event at the club on Sunday - the Junior Dons Christmas Party! Thanks to Mark and those players that gave up so much of their time for two great events on Sunday.
