Team of the decade: Your choice at right-back

Four more contenders for you to pick from

12 December 2019

We’re on the search to fill the right-back position in AFC Wimbledon’s team of the decade and we want your help to decide.

You voted in your hundreds as we launched our quest yesterday and it was a tough call for who would fill the goalkeeper slot. In the end you chose the safe hands of Aaron Ramsdale, with 59% of the votes cast.

Now we turn our attention to the defence and the right-back spot. We have another four contenders for you to pick from, vying for your vote.

Perhaps you’ll go for Sam Hatton (pictured), who joined AFC Wimbledon in 2007 and scored the first penalty in our shoot-out victory over Luton Town in the 2011 Blue Square Premier Promotion Play-off final at the City of Manchester Stadium.

Curtis Osano, described by former Manager Terry Brown as “a beast of boy”, helped us to retain our Football League status in 2013 as part of the side that beat Fleetwood Town on the dramatic final day of the 2012/13 season.

Former captain Barry Fuller made a huge contribution in his time with Wimbledon. During his five years between 2013 and 2018 he made over 200 league appearances and won numerous Player of the Year awards. His proudest achievement of all though was guiding the club into League One, with victory over Plymouth in the Play-off final at Wembley in 2016.

Toby Sibbick came through our own Academy system, having been part of an Under-18s squad that memorably won at Watford and Newcastle United in the FA Youth Cup. The versatile youngster eventually settled on the right side of the defence. He memorably scored a superb header and our fourth goal in the shock FA Cup victory over West Ham United last season.

The choice is yours and you have 24 hours to decide! You can cast your vote via our official AFC Wimbledon twitter account.
