Famous American clocks up the air miles for The Dons

Successful author flies in to support his club

American author and avid AFC Wimbledon fan John Green paid the club a flying visit at the weekend and was overjoyed to be back with The Dons again.

“I left on Friday night and got in on Saturday morning at around 11 am and came straight to the club,” said John. “It’s a very brief visit for me. Being here, with Wimbledon fans, is one of the biggest joys in my life. So I’m just super-excited!”

John, who sponsors a stand at the ground, flew in again to cheer on Wimbledon in our fifth round tie against Millwall. He took time to reflect on our season so far and draws strength from previous achievements, as we aim to retain our status.

“There are still plenty of games to go,” said John. “I, like I’m sure everyone else, know how many games we have to win or draw probably to make it out. I’m looking at 51 or 52 points. Can we get there? It’s going to be hard, but if I’ve learnt anything from Wimbledon over the years it’s that they specialise in doing the impossible.”

John also spoke passionately about how he watched the drama unfold, during our 4-2 victory over West Ham, plus the effect it had on his family!

You can see the full interview below, via our YouTube channel, in which John also talks about his latest projects.
