Liam Trotter has left AFC Wimbledon by mutual agreement for a new football challenge in America.
After joining AFC Wimbledon in July 2017, Liam made 70 appearances in all competitions for The Dons, scoring four goals. Liam played a key role last season with his midfield performances helping to keep Wimbledon in League One.
However, with his first-team opportunities having been limited recently, Liam decided that a chance to play football in America was the right opportunity for him. The 30-year-old has therefore signed for United Soccer League side Orange County SC, a club where former Don Harry Forrester also plays his football.
Wally Downes said: "Liam has shown an exemplary attitude in training and when called upon performed well for me. It's a shame that first-team opportunities were limited at this stage of his career. Liam is a good guy and a good professional."
We thank Liam for his contribution in a Wimbledon shirt and we wish him every success in his future career.
