Wally Downes said that our supporters fully deserve a 'great gesture' by our playing squad to fund coach travel for the trip to Shrewsbury.
Following the fantastic away support at our Tuesday night away games at Walsall and Rochdale - both ending in vital victories - the players have offered to pay for two supporters' coaches to Shrewsbury on Saturday week.
Wally Downes said: “The fans have been so helpful to the team, so vociferous in their support. I think you could see how much the players enjoyed celebrating the goals with the fans. They appreciate what the fans have done, so they are going to pay for a couple of coaches to go up to Shrewsbury. It’s a great gesture by the lads, but it’s no more than what the fans deserve. Without the fans, there would be no AFC Wimbledon.”
