Do you want the chance to combine playing for the Dons with studying for a qualification that will boost your career options?

If so, then it's certainly worth applying for the AFC Wimbledon Elite Development Programme.

We are recruiting for the 2018/19 season with those successful getting the chance to represent AFC Wimbledon against teams including Charlton Athletic, Peterborough United and Southend United.

AFC Wimbledon Foundation are holding trials for year 11 and 12 students that wish to combine playing football with their education at Southfields Academy.

THE PROGRAMME

AFC Wimbledon Elite Development Programme offers potential recruits the opportunity to participate in a fully comprehensive training and playing programme, while continuing their education at Southfields Academy.

Students will be able to gain A-Level and BTEC Qualifications while participating on this course, with AFC Wimbledon being one of only a select few clubs that will allow you the opportunity to be educated in both. Studies will take place at state-of-the-art-facilities at Southfields Academy.

On the pitch, students are given the opportunity to be taught by UEFA qualified coaches to help develop their footballing skills, while competing in the Conference Youth Alliance and EFL Community & Education Football Alliance.

AGE CRITERIA AND HOW TO BOOK A TRIAL

AFC Wimbledon are looking for current Year 11 students and Year 12 students. To book a trial please either send an email to Andrew May at Andrew.May@afcwimbledonfoundation.org.uk with the subject title EFP Trials 2019/20 or go to our survey monkey booking form which will be sent straight to the email address above.

The Football & Education Programme runs for a two-year period. During this time, students will study A-Levels and/or a BTEC Qualification, while receiving approximately 6-9 hours per week in active training from UEFA qualified Academy coaches. Successful applicants typically join the first year of the programme in the school term directly following GCSE exams (year 12).
