Scott Wagstaff said that hassling West Ham from the first whistle was the key to getting the better of Premier League opposition last night.

Speaking to iFollow after the 4-2 win, our two-goal hero said: “We didn’t want to give them any respect, you could see that from my first goal with the way Kwesi closed the centre-back down. I managed to run in and the boys are giving me a bit of stick because they didn’t know where the pace came from, but I’ve still got some legs in me! The boys were excellent for all of the 90 minutes, we didn’t let them play. I think you could hear their fans booing them when they were trying to play out because we were getting in and around them. The game plan worked.

“I felt that we deserved it. We were hanging on a bit near the end, but when Toby scored it was a bit of a relief that he did score it because we had put so much into the game.”

The full interview with Scott is available to watch by visiting our iFollow channel. An interview with Kwesi Appiah can also be viewed on our club channel.
