Steve Seddon said that he’s ready for the big challenge of helping AFC Wimbledon to stay in League One after turning down interest from other clubs to come here.
Speaking during his first interview for iFollow after signing on loan from Birmingham City, the 21-year-old left-back said: “The club is bottom of the league and it’s going to be a scrap, but I see us staying up at the end of the season. I want to have as much impact as I can and have a successful time here.
“It all happened quite quickly. A few clubs were sniffing around, but I heard Wimbledon were interested, so I told the people involved that I wanted to go to Wimbledon. I believe it will be a good club for me.”
Steve spent the first half of 2018/19 on loan at Stevenage and he’s aiming to maintain the promising form shown at the League 2 club.
“I really enjoyed my time at Stevenage, it was a great club for me. We played some good football there. I want to play as many games as I can at Wimbledon and have as big an impact as I can. I’m a hard-working full-back who gets up and down.
“I am just willing to learn off the manager here, to try to do what he tells me to do. I feel the manager has a lot of experience in the game that I can learn from. If I get the call-up on Saturday I will be buzzing for it. I am sure when the ground gets packed there is a good atmosphere. It’s quite a small ground, so I’m guessing that the atmosphere will be bang on.
“I will take my future at Birmingham as it comes there. I enjoy the club, it’s a good club. I am looking forward to getting on the pitch there, but first and foremost I have to focus on playing well here.”
