Change of colour to the Paul Strank Stand

New look to the stadium when you arrive tonight

5 July 2019

Supporters will notice a quite a change to the Paul Strank Stand when they arrive to cheer on The Dons tonight, with blue seating now in place.

The new look, of course, also fits in with our main colours following work carried out by ground owners Chelsea over the summer break.

A few supporters have contacted us to ask what happened to the ‘Sponsor a Seat’ plaques that were installed on some of the seats. We inspected these plaques and our assessment was that they were unlikely to survive removal. They had become brittle – just like the seats themselves – and were either glued or riveted to the seats backs.

We recognise that some people had a sentimental attachment to their plaque, for example where it was associated with a family member who had or has subsequently passed away. We had been intending to put up a notification like this on our website to inform these people – but sadly we didn’t get around to this before photos of the removed seats were posted on social media.

We’d like to apologise to affected supporters who found out in this way.

Fans who have personalised bricks in the main stand should be aware that the club will be making arrangements for when we move to the new stadium at Plough Lane next year.
