Michael Folivi’s bond with our fans was the main reason why he wanted to return to Wimbledon and see what the squad is truly capable of.
“The fans are the biggest thing for me,” said Michael who made a goal scoring return to the side from the penalty spot in last night’s 3-2 defeat to Bristol City. “It starts with them and just follows through to the team. They’re amazing.
“The scenes on that final day at Bradford were crazy! I was singing a few of the chants on the way here! It's a little buzz, but it goes a long way. We're all as one and we finish the game together.”
Having settled quickly after his deadline day loan move initially from Watford at the end of January, Michael notched his first couple of senior goals in League One. Returning for a longer spell felt like going home again.
“Off the back end of last season, it just feels like a second home really,” said Michael (pictured above with right-back Kyron Stabana). “I had a good reception on twitter, so it made my decision easy. Walking back into the dressing room, you’ve got the ‘banter boys’ in there and Pigs (Joe Pigott) is non-stop! I don’t mind it.
“It feels like only yesterday we were celebrating at Bradford, so nothing has really changed. Obviously there are a few new faces as I’ve seen on the clips on social media, but the boys are looking sharp in training. I just want to get involved.
“The form that we finished off with last season was promotion form. I don’t see what’s changed. We pretty much stuck to the same routine from training and going into a match, so if that’s working why not keep it going?
“A few players have gone and a few have come in, so if we don’t change too much from last season I don’t see why we can’t end up at the top end of the table.”
