A week from today the waiting will be over and we’ll know our Sky Bet League One schedule for 2019/20.
With your help on social media, we’ve started our countdown to fixture release day by looking at the great matches from each of the seasons since AFC Wimbledon were promoted back into the Football League.
Today we turned the spotlight on the original “Great Escape” from 2012-13, when The Dons avoided dropping out of the Football League with a 2-1 victory at home to Fleetwood. Gary Alexander gave us the lead, before Andy Mangan levelled for the visitors. Jack Midson calmed the nerves with a well taken penalty in front of the Dons fans, which eventually secured our safety.
There were memorable scenes after the game too, as Wimbledon fans invaded the pitch at the Cherry Red Records Stadium with our league status secure.
