Dylan and Kwesi edge closer to returns

Stuart's report from the treatment room

5 March 2019

Stuart Douglas today issued a positive bulletin on the fitness of Dylan Connolly and Kwesi Appiah.

Kwesi is making good progress after putting a hamstring injury behind him and so too is Dylan, who also joined in training today after recovering from bone bruising to his foot.

Stuart said: “They both came in yesterday for an assessment, to do some functional work. Kwesi actually trained with the Under-23s yesterday, but they both came through absolutely fine. We have been in discussions this morning, I spoke to Jason (Moriarty) and as staff we were happy for them to join in training today. They both trained well and there were no adverse effects. It’s a case of so far, so good."

Rod McDonald suffered a minor injury in the build-up to Saturday's game at Shrewsbury, and he is working on his recuperation this week with Stuart.

“Rod travelled with us for the game on Saturday, but he tweaked his groin on Friday when we trained on the way up at Birmingham. It’s only a minor strain, but we couldn’t risk him playing in case we made it worse so he has been off with that. I am hoping it won’t be an issue for more than seven to 10 days.”

Take a look below at Stuart’s updates from the treatment room, which includes Aaron Ramsdale playing the joker at the training ground!
