Sacrifice brings the ultimate reward for Seddon

Interview with all-action full-back after his impressive goal against Doncaster

10 March 2019

Steve Seddon changed his pre-match ritual before Doncaster - and judging by his superb opener it didn't do him any harm!

In an interview for the match day programme, the all-action left-back mentioned that he made a habit of eating Crème Eggs and sweets to boost his energy before a game, but that changed yesterday.

Speaking to our iFollow channel after the 2-0 win against Doncaster, Seddon said: “I’ve actually given up sweets for Lent! I gave up sweets, chocolate, and my phone. I had a Mango instead before the game to give me that energy. I think I will stick with Mango for Tuesday night now!

The on-loan Birmingham City left-back was quick to turn his attentions to the importance of maintaining Wimbledon’s good recent league run after 10 points out of the last 15 with Peterborough up next.

“We have to make sure we keep doing the right things. We’ve worked extremely hard to get those three wins out of five, so we cannot come away from that. We have to keep working hard. We haven’t done anything yet really. All we have done is closed the gap by two points. We have to try and pick-up another two points on Tuesday.

“The fans here are really good and it makes a difference. This is as tough for the fans as it is for the players with the club in a tricky spot. The fans are really getting behind us and I’m very thankful for that."
