Loan watch: Nik makes winning start with Sutton

New Zealand international plays in away day victory

18 November 2019

Goalkeeper Nik Tzanev has made a great start to life with Vanarama National League side Sutton United.

The New Zealand international (pictured) joined Sutton on Friday, on loan until January 1, 2020 and he helped secure an impressive 2-1 victory away to sixth-placed Torquay United the following day. The win took Matt Gray’s side up two places in the table to 21st place.

There was no Sky Bet League Two action for Irish winger Dylan Connolly on Saturday, as the Bantams' trip to Colchester United was postponed due to international call-ups.

However, everyone at AFC Wimbledon was delighted to see our former midfielder Jake Reeves return to action for Bradford in midweek, after a lengthy injury lay-off.

Jake, part of our Promotion Play-off winning side from 2016, made his return as captain of a Bradford team that lost 2-1 at home to League One Rochdale in the Leasing.com Trophy. He also collected the man of the match award following the game, with 80% of votes cast by supporters.

Midfielder Ayoub Assal (Metropolitan Police), midfielder Finlay Macnab and striker Tommy Wood (Leatherhead), forward Zach Robinson (Basingstoke Town), midfielder Jack Rudoni (Tonbridge Angels) and defender Jamil Awoyejo (Westside) have returned from loans or work experience. They all figured in our Leasing.com Trophy game at Southend United.
