Zach adds two more to his haul of goals

Loan watch: Young Dons striker netted another double at the weekend

4 November 2019

Zach Robinson followed up his double for our Under-18s in midweek, with another brace at the weekend.

The young Dons striker, who bagged two goals in our 5-0 FA Youth Cup victory over Leyton Orient, netted twice more for Basingstoke Town on Saturday. Despite pulling the score back to 2-2, with goals in the 67th and 75th minutes, the Hampshire side eventually lost 4-2 at Paulton Rovers though.

Reuben Collins' loan with Basingstoke expired on Saturday. The intention was to extend the defender’s loan for a further month, but he is currently injured and likely to be out of action for a few weeks.

Midfielder Ayoub Assal completed a successful two-month loan with Metropolitan Police. He also returned to play a key role in our Youth Cup triumph at the Cherry Red Records Stadium last week.

Winger Dylan Connolly was back in form for Bradford City, in their home win against Exeter City in Sky Bet League Two on Saturday.

The Irishman had previously been nursing a calf injury, but played in their 2-0 victory and hit the framework of the goal with five minutes remaining.

Striker Tommy Wood picked up Leatherhead supporters' Player of the Month award for October, having polled 46 per cent of the votes.

Tommy and midfielder Finlay Macnab both started for the Tanners in their away league game at Bishop’s Stortford. Although Finlay was booked, Leatherhead won 1-0 in difficult conditions. Zaki Nazih Oualah, who trains on a weekly basis with Wimbledon and featured in our “Goalkeeper Day” video, kept yet another clean sheet.

Jack Rudoni was recalled from his loan at National League South club Tonbridge Angels. The skilful midfielder was included on the bench for Saturday’s draw with Lincoln City.

Young scholar Richie Mbele played in Godalming Town’s 6-1 defeat to Farnham Town in midweek, but their game on Saturday at Westfield was postponed.
