Tommy recalled in time to face Southend tonight

Forward in contention for Trophy group match at Roots Hall

13 November 2019

Tommy Wood has returned to AFC Wimbledon after a successful loan spell at Leatherhead, and the striker is in contention for the Trophy group game at Southend tonight.

The former Burnley youngster has been in goal scoring form for the Isthmian League Premier Division side, having netted nine times in all competitions during a two-month spell with the Tanners. During this time, Tommy picked up the player of the month award at Leatherhead.

Manager Glyn Hodges will now be able to call upon the young forward for the game against Southend United as another attacking option. Tommy came on as a substitute in our first group match, as a substitute, in the 77th minute of the opening Trophy group match against Brighton and Hove Albion Under-21s. A victory tonight will guarantee a place in the knockout stages for Wimbledon.

If you missed Glyn's squad update ahead of tonight's game (7.45 pm kick-off), see our previous article. Dons fans can pay on the night at Roots Hall with the following entry prices:

  • Adults - £8
