Just £5 entry for adults to attend cup tie at Hanworth Villa

13 November 2019

AFC Wimbledon's young talents will be seeking to make further progress in the FA Youth Cup on Monday night.

The young Dons face a short trip to Hanworth Villa on Monday (7.30 pm kick-off) for the right to face Sheffield United away in the third round of the national competition. Our Under-18s reached this stage with an impressive 5-0 win against Leyton Orient (the picture above shows Zach Robinson celebrating one of his goals in that match).

However, it will be far from an easy task for our youngsters to book a trip to Bramall Lane as Villa recently knocked out Gillingham 3-2 at Priestfield Stadium.

Your support will therefore be very much appreciated at Rectory Meadow on Monday night.

Entry prices are as follows:

  • Adult £5
  • Under-18s £3

The address for the venue on Monday: Rectory Meadow, Park Road (off Hounslow Road), Hanworth, Middlesex,TW13 6PN.

Our Under-18s battled back from 3-1 down at Luton Town on Saturday to earn a creditable 3-3 draw. Taking on a Luton side that had not conceded in open play for 10 weeks, Wimbledon made the most of a corner to take the lead in the 35th minute. Dylan Adjei-Hersey's corner picked out Eliott Bolton at the near post and his flick-on found the bottom corner to make it 1-0. The lead didn't last long though as Luton equalised with a long-range strike before half-time.

Luton took a grip on the game in the second-half and marched into a 3-1 lead, but Wimbledon refused to give up and Ayoub Assal reduced the arrears. It appeared that Luton would hold out for a narrow win, but Dylan Adjei-Hersey had other ideas and he got the better of his marker to tap home for a deserved equaliser.
