Battling midfielder Ayoub Assal made an instant impression on loan as he starred for Metropolitan Police in their FA Cup tie on Saturday against Horsham.

Ayoub (pictured) caught the eye with an impressive display, as he started in a first qualifying round tie at Imber Court, which finished 1-1 and will go to a replay tomorrow night. This was Ayoub’s second appearance for his new side, having made his league debut as a substitute for the Met in a defeat to Merthyr Town the previous Saturday.

Striker Tommy Wood also figured in FA Cup action at the weekend. The powerful forward completed his loan move in time on Friday, to be involved in Leatherhead’s tie with Lewes at Fetcham Grove. Tommy was involved from the start of the game which finished 2-2 and goes to a replay on Wednesday evening down in Sussex.

Dylan Connolly got some vital game time up in Yorkshire as he played for 67 minutes on his Bradford City debut.

The Irish midfielder made his first appearance in Bradford colours. Dylan started and played for three quarters of the game, before he was substituted in the Bantams 2-1 victory over Northampton Town in League Two.

Former Wimbledon winger Egli Kaja was among those on the bench for Northampton, having completed a deadline day move to the Cobblers.
