The drama of 29 April 2008 and AFC Wimbledon's victory against AFC Hornchurch was a key night in the club's history.
Twelve years ago, Dons fans packed into the Cherry Red Records Stadium for the Ryman League Premier Division play-off semi-final.
Goals by Luis Cumbers and Jon Main put Wimbledon well in charge, but a 75th minute goal for Hornchurch by Harry Elmes increased the nerves amongst the home faithful. However, what followed was one of the most iconic moments in Wimbledon history - Mainy's superb individual goal.
Our former striker said: "For me, that night was electric. My family were all here watching and it's a night I will never forget."
Mainy recalled the events of that night in our recent 'Farewell Kingsmeadow' video. Take a look below at a video all about the events from 12 years ago, featuring Mainy, Michael Haswell, Erik Samuelson, and Rob Cornell.
Jubilant scenes followed after the 3-1 win and the Dons would go on to seal promotion by beating Staines Town 2-1 in the final. If you haven't yet seen our 'Farewell Kingsmeadow' feature, it's well worth 34 minutes of your time! Watch it by clicking on the link below.
