Throwback Thursday! Four years since Bayo's late winner at Plymouth

Taylor and Akinfenwa struck in what turned out to be a dress rehearsal for Wembley final

9 April 2020

AFC Wimbledon earned a significant victory on this date four years ago with Bayo Akinfenwa heading home the late winner at Plymouth.

In what turned out to be a dress rehearsal for the Wembley play-off final, Lyle Taylor and 'The Beast' struck in a 2-1 victory on 9 April 2016.

The goals were beautiful for different reasons. The first was a superb move with Taylor finishing clinically after lovely midfield play by Jake Reeves. Wimbledon's winner, following Graham Carey's equaliser, was a scrappy one in the build-up, but the finish was certainly one to savour as Akinfenwa nodded home in simplistic fashion to take full advantage of a defensive lapse.

Relive the highlights below from the victory at Plymouth.
