Watch: Wimbledon prepare for the New Year

The hard work continues at the training ground

29 December 2020

The first team squad were hard at work again today at our New Malden training base, as we prepare for Saturday’s visit of table-toppers Lincoln City to Plough Lane.

The Dons were due to meet Ipswich Town tonight in Sky Bet League One, but the game was suspended following recent positive COVID-19 tests reported by the Tractor Boys. This means our next fixture will be our first of the New Year, and Glyn and his staff have been putting the time to good use on the training pitches.

You can see some of the highlights from today’s session below, via the links to our official YouTube channel.

Sports Scientist Chris McConnell started by getting the players warmed-up in the post-Christmas, chilly conditions.

Assistant Manager Nick Daws tried to give Will Nightingale, Terell Thomas and Steve Seddon an advantage over our young Dons, although that didn’t go according to plan!

Young Welsh defender Jack Madelin stepped up his return from a lengthy injury lay-off, under the watchful eyes of Manager Glyn Hodges.
