Glyn on his search to improve the squad in January

Manager's full update ahead of Peterborough

16 January 2020

Glyn Hodges said he’s working hard to reinforce Wimbledon’s squad, but our manager is prepared to be patient in search of the right options.

Speaking in his Thursday update ahead of the match against Peterborough, Glyn said: “We are doing loads of work, but unfortunately nothing will be happening before the Peterborough game. With Oxford not in the FA Cup on the weekend after next, we don’t play then, so that gives us a little bit more time. Hopefully, we will have someone in for the Burton game.

“We have a long list and a list in every position. We have a succession plan and we are currently working through it. We are speaking to people all of the time. That’s normal, but unfortunately everyone seems to be after the same players. Everyone is after a 20-goal centre forward, so we have to be cute with how we go about it. Marcus came in as not such a big name and a young player, but he did fantastic, so it might be that route that we go down, but we have to make sure we’ve got options and pick the right one.”

After the Man of the Match presentation on Saturday there will be a meeting for the Plough Lane Bond scheme and a Q&A in the Main Bar. This Bond is going to be absolutely crucial to our chances of completing the stadium construction on time, so please come along to hear more about it and ask the team who have set it up any questions.
