Make a difference by signing up for our important community initiative

7 July 2020

It is now almost four months since the Dons Local Action Group was formed and over 1,000 volunteers have helped to make this community project a tremendous success.

However, with lockdown restrictions having now been eased and people back at work, the DLAG needs your help to continue making a difference to the lives of people in Merton, Kingston, and Wandsworth.

Since its inception, notable achievements of the Dons Local Action Group include:

  • Delivering 22,000 one-week food packs to those in poverty
  • Providing 600 computer devices to children for online home learning
  • Delivering furniture to households in desperate need
  • Assisting the homeless

There are a number of tasks that the Dons Local Action Group requires help with, including:

  • Collection points outside supermarkets
  • Phone work (for food recipients)
  • Phone work (for the hotline)
  • Procurement
  • Fundraising
  • Delivery driving
  • Hub workers
  • Rota leaders
  • Marketing and Communications
  • Volunteer management
  • IT (wiping donated laptops)
  • Mentoring
  • Removals
  • Cooking
  • Admin

Can you help the Dons Local Action Group to continue its fantastic work? If so, please get in touch by contacting 020 3301 4511 or e-mail DLAGvolunteer@afcwimbledonfoundation.org.uk . Let us know how you would prefer to help, or the DLAG will put you where you are most needed.
