Evergreen Dons fan Ann Brimelow last week chose the hard way to visit France – by swimming the English Channel!
Ann, a recent contributor to the Plough Lane Bond, was part of a relay team that included five other women, as part of a charity pursuit. In true Dons style of battling through adversity, the 73-year-old came through a challenge often regarded as treacherous.
It started at half past midnight on Wednesday morning and finished at 7.30 pm in the evening. Congratulations Ann on coming through your unique challenge with flying colours and we hope to see you proudly wearing blue and yellow at our new stadium!
Ann’s team, which is called the South London Allsorts, have so far raised over £9,000 for charities via their donations page with funds raised going towards the Samaritans, Croydon Community Against Human Trafficking (CCAT), and the Alzheimer’s Society.
