A key date in Wimbledon history: The march to Manchester!

There was simply no stopping AFC Wimbledon nine years ago as Terry Brown's men swept aside Fleetwood in the play-off final second leg.

Kaid Mohamed's hat-trick provided the spark and goals from Danny Kedwell, Christian Jolley, and James Mulley earned an 8-1 aggregate win. It emphatically secured a date with destiny for Wimbledon - a chance to earn the club's rightful place back in the Football League.

Speaking after the superb victory, Terry Brown said: "My over-riding emotion is pride. I enjoyed watching that and I think the crowd did as well. We were magnificent.

"To think of where the club has come from and to be so close to being back to where we should be is fantastic. If we can do it inside ten years these players can create history. We have here a wonderful group that can only get better, whatever happens at the City of Manchester Stadium next Saturday."

Of course, we all know what happened at Manchester, as the Dons earned a fifth promotion in nine years by edging out Luton Town on penalties.

Take a look below at all six goals from the win versus Fleetwood and you can also watch extended highlights from that game.
