With the club’s return to Plough Lane growing ever closer, we wanted to give you as fans something special to commemorate what will be a momentous evening for all involved with Wimbledon.
With that in mind, we are delighted to announce that we will be selling a one-off printed special of our popular Matchday Magazine, BTPL.
Fronting up this special issue is a foreword from our Club President Dickie Guy, who encapsulates the feeling surrounding our return home in his own distinctive way, whilst CEO Joe Palmer, former CEO Erik Samuelson, Merton Council’s Stephen Alambritis and of course our manager, Glyn Hodges give their own take on what has come before us and what is ahead.
Delving further into this special edition, fans can also look forward to an interview which has never been done before as BTPL Editor Chris Thorpe sat down with the four founding fathers of AFC Wimbledon; Ivor Heller, Marc Jones, Kris Stewart and Trevor Williams to discuss the past 29 years in exceptional detail, in a piece which is sure to be a real eye opener for many.
The BTPL Editor also recently spoke to three of our most successful managers, with Dave Anderson, Terry Brown and Neal Ardley discussing promotions, memories and Plough Lane in a series of wide ranging interviews which certainly help to capture the mood and feeling of what has been a successful last 18 years for the Dons.
Further exciting features include a piece by first-team captain Will Nightingale on what it means to be the first player to lead the club back at Plough Lane, whilst we also have an exclusive picture gallery of our new home, providing fans with a real collage of eye-catching images to savour.
This issue also includes another instalment of our popular Historical Don section, in which Stephen Crabtree continues his countdown to the ultimate Don in our Hall of Fame feature, which is partnered up fittingly with another look at the history of Plough Lane through the years.
Furthermore, we also have important contributions from the AFC Wimbledon Foundation, Dons Local Action Group, the Dons Trust, the Academy, Haydon the Womble and the usual detailed rundown of our opponents on Tuesday 3rd November, Doncaster Rovers.
Packed with 100, perfectly bound, A4 pages of unique and exclusive content, the special edition programme promises to be a real page turner with the aim to make this a real keepsake for fans and collectors having been at the forefront of our ideas.
