Bayzo keeps our fine tradition in safe hands!

Take a look at video footage of our keepers showing their qualities between the sticks

30 September 2020

Ashley Bayes joined us back in 2013 - and our latest goalkeeping masterclass video certainly shows that the future is in safe hands.

As well as watching current number one Connal Trueman being put through a relentless training session at New Malden, young keepers Matthew Cox, an England Under-17 international, and Nik Tzanev, who has been capped by New Zealand, can be seen showing positive signs for the future.

Of course, Wimbledon is a club with special affection for its goalkeepers, going back to the days of Dickie Guy and Dave Beasant. Speaking about the competitive environment he seeks to create for every training session, Bayzo said: "I want them to be all pushing each other, they know the situation: when one is playing in the first-team the other two push, challenge, and support. They must train hard every day – I demand that from them.”

Look out in Saturday's online matchday programme for interviews with Bayzo and Matthew Cox.
