Dons trio go out on loan

An update from Mark Robinson

18 September 2020

Jack Madelin has today joined Isthmian League Premier Division side Leatherhead on loan.

The 18-year-old, (pictured above), who made his first-team debut at Burton Albion last season, will be joined at Leatherhead by left-back Jack Currie, who made a favourable impression there during pre-season.

Midfielder Elliott Bolton is also going out on loan and he has signed for Isthmian League Division One South club Merstham.

Mark Robinson, Lead Professional Phase Coach and Loans Manager, said: "Jack Currie has been playing for Leatherhead in friendlies and he has done very well. Unfortunately, Jack Madelin has been carrying a bit of an injury, so he's only been able to play half an hour so far, but Leatherhead's manager Nikki Bull saw enough quality to want to take him. We had an excellent relationship with Leatherhead last season and the lads that went there all developed well.

"Elliott had an injury in early pre-season so he was a bit behind where we would him to be, but I got him down to Merstham recently for a couple of friendlies and the manager Frank Wilson was impressed and he wanted to sign him straight after his second game. Elliott really enjoyed the environment and games, so I am confident it will be a good move for him."

Elliott could feature tomorrow for Merstham in an away match at AFC Hornchurch. Jack Madelin and Jack Currie are set to be in the Leatherhead squad for a home match versus Horsham. We wish all three every success during their loan spells.
