Fisher sparks victory in front of fans at Carshalton

Young striker makes his mark

21 September 2020

David Fisher maintained his impressive start at Carshalton Athletic by setting them on the road to a first league victory of the season.

With several of our young Dons getting used to playing in front of fans once again, Fisher produced a delightful back-heel in front of a crowd of 452 spectators to set-up the opening goal for Omar Koroma in a 3-0 win versus Potters Bar Town.

Former Under-18s captain Archie Procter made his first appearance in Carshalton colours, when he came on as a second-half substitute.

After scoring in the FA Cup last week, David will tonight be aiming to help the Isthmian League Premier Division side to make more progress in the competition, as Carshalton host Faversham Town.

Both Jack Currie and Elliott Bolton earned man-of-the-match awards after their first appearances, since moving to different clubs on loan.

Left-back Currie played the entire game for Leatherhead in a 1-1 draw versus Horsham with Jack Madelin coming on as a 57th minute substitute, the young defender only recently putting an injury behind him. Zaki Nazi Oualah, who trains with Wimbledon's goalkeepers, was back in goal for Leatherhead and former Dons youth striker Great Nii Okai Evans led the line.

Also in the Isthmian League Premier Division, young Dons midfielder Bolton lined up in the same Merstham team as former Wimbledon academy striker Bobby Mills. The Moatsiders lost 2-1 with 366 fans in attendance at Hornchurch.
