Manager’s update ahead of League One away match

Glyn Hodges provided a positive bulletin about the fitness of his squad for Fleetwood - and our manager confirmed that Steve Seddon will be a part of it.

Ollie Palmer is the only player currently ruled out with Jack Rudoni having joined in training after putting concussion behind him, though Saturday will come too soon for him to return to the squad.

Glyn said: "Nearly everyone is fit. 'Rudi' has joined in training, so that's a tick in the box for him. It's only Ollie that we are waiting to get back in. There are eight games coming up in October so it was pleasing that players who needed 90 minutes got that on Tuesday. We've had good training sessions and the boys are full of confidence.

"There are no easy games in this division and it's up to us to make sure we get things right on the pitch and make an impact when we get the chance. When you go away from home you expect to be put under pressure and to have to defend at times. We have done well there (Fleetwood) in recent years and we won in the FA Cup up there."

Steve Seddon has taken the number 42 squad number for his second loan spell at Wimbledon and the Birmingham City left-back could make his first appearance since rejoining us. The picture above shows Steve celebrating his vital goal against Doncaster during the season we stayed up on the last day at Bradford.

The Dons have had no problems hitting the goal trail this season, but conceding at the other end has resulted in dropped points from winning positions.

"We trained on Monday and then we had a big meeting together, just watching some clips that we had gone through during lockdown," added Glyn. "We had just put clips of good play together and we made that into a video, which we have watched again. For those that watched our game on iFollow on Tuesday, the first-half was exactly what we had spoken about on Monday. We hope to replicate that on Saturday."
