Matchday Magazine | Back To Plough Lane

17 September 2020

To coincide with the long-awaited return to our home, we are delighted to announce that our matchday programme has undergone something of a revamp to reflect the feeling behind our move to Plough Lane.

Creating a fresh and inspiring look for the programme was key to our ideas as we look to keep in-line with the ever changing trends of the football industry as a whole – with the need for a new and exciting title for the programme being at the forefront of this.

The name Back to Plough Lane (BTPL) embodies both the feeling of our supporters and the final stage of a journey which began back in 1991 as we get ever closer to finally having a home game again.

In addition to a new title, fans can look forward to several fresh and exclusive feature pieces which aim to provide something for readers of all ages, whilst an expansive range of new designs and layouts will help to fit into our aim to market this as a Matchday Magazine.

We are also delighted to announce that our matchday programme will be going digital for the first time, with our proud association with Matchday Digital helping to facilitate this.

Matchday Digital is the world’s first, football first, digital magazine platform, bringing together premium paid content from club’s matchday programmes, popular football magazines, newspapers, and high-quality fan-produced fanzines.

Speaking about the new and exclusive partnership, Matchday Digital Founder, CEO, and life-long Wimbledon fan Damian Woodward had this to say:

“We have been developing Matchday Digital over the last 18 months with a view to really finding a way of bringing traditionally printed-quality longer-form journalism to a single platform dedicated solely to football.

“It simply speaking will be a one stop shop for all of your favourite football titles. I am absolutely delighted to be showcasing the app with my own club. Joe is very much a forward thinker in terms of how a modern football club can position itself for success, so apart from my obvious bias, it makes AFC Wimbledon the perfect partner and case study.”

Plymouth Argyle fans can expect to find a superbly detailed feature on their own club in this Saturday’s issue, including reviews of past matches and a ‘season so far’ segment.

The app will be available to download (for free) from the Apple (IOS) and Google Play (Android) stores on Saturday.

Simply visit the app store on your mobile device, type in Matchday Digital and download the app to you phone.

Once in the app, you will see our Matchday Magazine displayed in the top left corner of the home screen page – click on the image of the cover and then select one of the subscription options.

Alongside the programme you will find your regular weekly fix of The League Paper and popular monthly titles such as WSC, FourFourTwo and Late Tackle, plus some Wimbledon fanzines and books and loads of other gems.

The new programme is priced at £2.99/ issue or £49.99 for the full season which is paid in the app.

Please note that there will be no printed programme until further notice.
